Sunday, August 29, 2027, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon (Please choose just one Sunday workshop. They're held simultaneously!)

Do you have questions about enamel? Are you getting the results you want? Let's talk about all things tricky when it comes to working with enamel and metal clay! Metal clay, the master of texture, creates a beautiful surface to enamel but it also brings new and different challenges!

In this informative presentation Terri will help you navigate the in's and out's of working with one of the oldest art forms, glass adhered to metal.

We will take on:

  • Do you really need to wash your enamels?
  • How about sifting?
  • Temperature and Time?
  • Color changes; when and why?
  • And much more!

This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires the purchase of the MCAS General Registration.

Terri Hickey has worked with metal clay since 2007 and, for the past 12 years, has focused extensively on enameling metal clay, particularly champlevé and cloisonné.
