The W represents most important questions: who, what, when, where, why, how. Imagine how you’d love metal clay art minus wet clay prep, tools, mess, dry-time and fragility. Embrace reality via Fold Lock techniques applied to fine silver Metal Leather -dry clay strips boasting structural integrity to pinch, punch, shove, tug... Be ready to create anywhere from here to there, on a plane or a train, yet it need not be far when in a car as it’s fast like a rocket with kits in your pocket! Expand your repertoire with Kim Struve’s Fold Lock techniques. Warning: experience with the complementary Metal Leather may further augment studio diversity and enlarge creation locations. We will master the Fold Lock: Slide technique and practice decorations with colorful paper; use Metal Leather kit (included) to make a fine silver W; troubleshoot; solve; and, discuss firing. SASE required to enjoy free firing. Please bring hand-held hole/shape punches, 4mm (1/8”) and smaller.
Note: A $10 kit fee will be collected by the instructor during this Technique Discovery Workshop.
This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires purchase of the General Registration.

Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Workshop fees do not include travel, meals, or accommodations. Workshop fees, less a $20 processing fee, are refundable prior to May 1, 2023, if notified in writing to metals@sawtooth.org. If you need to cancel after May 1, 2023, please notify us and we will try to fill your space. If we can fill your space, we will issue you a refund less a $20 processing fee.
