This workshop meets Friday and Saturday, August 22 & 23, 2025, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm each day with a lunch break
Capture the awe of onlookers with an intricately detailed piece that you can proudly say you made yourself! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn to combine delicate elements in metal clay, calculate shrinkage for precise stone settings post-firing, and master soldering techniques for metal clay. Elevate your skills as we blend metal clay artistry with metal fabrication and soldering, unlocking endless creative possibilities. This workshop will take your jewelry-making expertise to new heights.
The instructor will collect a kit fee of $130 during the workshop.
Kit fee includes - 30 grams of fine silver clay. Stone (selection may vary) sterling silver stock, sterling silver tube bezels, CZ’s, silver solder, consumable during workshop and printed written instructions.
Students should bring: Basic metal clay tool kit; Needle files to use with metal clay; Mini Saw; Rubber sanding block
This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires the purchase of the General Registration.
About Stephanie:
Stephanie Chavez is a certified metal clay artist and instructor with over 15 years of experience in the field. Although she is proficient in various jewelry-making techniques, her true passion and expertise lie in metal clay. Stephanie offers classes online, in her home studio in South Jordan, UT, and at various expos and studios across the United States and internationally. Whether working with beginners or advanced students, Stephanie believes that everyone has the potential to be a creative artist. She provides a safe and enjoyable environment for exploring artistic boundaries, bringing joy and inspiration to all who attend her workshops.

The MCAS GENERAL REGISTRATION fee ($100) is non-refundable. Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Workshop fees do not include travel or accommodations. Workshop fees, less a $20 processing fee, are refundable prior to May 1, 2025, if notified in writing to metals@sawtooth.org. If you need to cancel after May 1, 2025, please notify us and we will make every effort to fill your space. If we can fill your space, we will issue you a refund less a $20 processing fee.
