Explore the world of textures in metal clay with Featured Artist Patrik Kusek. This workshop offers a comprehensive look at various techniques for using, finding, and creating textures, including using everyday items, making photopolymer plates, creating custom textures with 2-part mold compound, the art of carving and found objects. Plus a discussion on new technology and how to best use it for texture making. Whether you're new to metal clay or a seasoned artist, this workshop promises to provide valuable insights and practical skills to enhance your jewelry-making endeavors.

 

This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires purchase of the General Registration.

 

About Patrik Kusek
Patrik’s experience in the worlds of design and fashion helped shape his creative vision and brand. He is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and The Academy of Art University. He worked as a Fashion Stylist at Macy’s San Francisco and was the owner and Creative Director of Wallop Design Group, a graphic design and branding company. He currently is able to pursue his passion as a jewelry artist and instructor. He teaches metal clay workshops in the San Francisco Bay Area and internationally. Patrik is a member of the PMC Guild and is both PMC Guild Certified and Art Clay Certified. He was one of 9 senior instructors for Rio Grande and that taught PMC certification workshops internationally. He was a featured artist on HGTV’s “That’s Clever.” Patrik’s work has been published in numerous books and publications. He is also the recipient of the 2007 Saul Bell Award 1st place and 2016 2nd place in PMC. Patrik has also recently been featured in Ornament Magazine.

Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Workshop fees do not include travel or accommodations. Workshop fees, less a $20 processing fee, are refundable prior to May 1, 2025, if notified in writing to metals@sawtooth.org. If you need to cancel after May 1, 2025, please notify us and we will try to fill your space. If we can fill your space, we will issue you a refund less a $20 processing fee.
