This workshop meets Friday and Saturday, August 27 & 28, 2027, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm each day with a lunch break

Take your metal clay skills beyond the traditional bracelet with this hands-on workshop focused on construction, texture, and precision. Students will create a completely metal clay link bracelet featuring individually constructed links with inset textured panels for a dimensional, architectural look. Throughout the workshop, students will explore techniques for designing and constructing strong, functional links in metal clay, creating precise inset areas, working with multiple textures, and assembling individual components into a flexible bracelet. Attention will be given to fit, movement, alignment, and creating durable connections that allow the finished bracelet to articulate naturally. Designed for experienced metal clay artists, this workshop offers a fresh approach to working with metal clay as a fully functional jewelry mechanism—not simply as a medium for decorative elements. Students will learn construction techniques and approaches that can be adapted to their own link jewelry designs long after the workshop is over. The finished bracelet will be entirely metal clay, with no added findings required. It’s an opportunity to experiment with structure, repetition, texture, and engineering while creating a substantial piece of wearable jewelry. Prerequisite: Experience working with metal clay, including basic rolling, texturing, construction, and firing techniques.

A kit fee of $75 will be collected during the workshop by the instructor and includes 50g Project X Bronze clay, all textures and templates needed for the project and loaner toolkits for any students that need one.

This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires the purchase of the General Registration.
